Each year roughly one million people head to Camp Verde to see the Montezuma Castle National Monument. Formed by the Sinagua Indians around 1200 a.d., the park was designated as a national monument in 1906. Carved into the side of the limestone cliffs in Verde Valley, visitors can see the five-story home, 20-room home of the early people of the area.
